2017 GERMANTOWN MUD RACE RULES

4&6 CYLINDER RULES

  1. The vehicle must be full framed, four wheel drive and have a factory automotive engine that is either 4 or 6 cylinders utilizing a single carburetor or factory fuel injection. No aftermarket racing engines allowed. No superchargers or turbo chargers allowed unless that vehicle came from the factory with it installed.
  2. The exhaust must be come past the driver’s compartment.
  3. No nitrous oxide allowed. Nothing pertaining to nitrous may be on the vehicle.
  4. Lift kits and traction bars are allowed.
  5. Helmets and seatbelts are required.
  6. Full size vehicles are allowed.
  7. Unmodified DOT tires only. No cutting of tires. The inside of the tires must not go past the outermost part of the body.
  8. In the event that a vehicle doesn’t meet these rules it will be up to the discretion of the technical director and event staff as to class placement for the vehicle in question.

COUNTY & SURROUNDING RULES

  1. No race trucks.  This class is designated for every day; street driven 4-wheel drive trucks that the driver’s primary residence is in the county of competition or in a county that physically touch the county of competition.
  2. Any matching size DOT tires, no cuts.
  3. Body, frame and drivetrain must be of the same make. Engine must have smooth idle. No dual line carbs, tunnel rams, nitrous or racing fuel allowed.
  4. Headers ok. No open exhaust and exhaust must come past driver’s compartment.
  5. Lift kits ok.
  6. Open and soft tops must have roll bars.
  7. Bumpers, tailgates (or nets) required.
  8. Full body required. No gutting.
  9. Safety: Both general and all safety rules apply.
  10. Proof of insurance and registration are required and must be in the name of the driver or immediate family. This is responsibility of the drive rand will be strictly enforced. No underage drivers or anyone with a learners permit. A full driver’s license is required.
  11. Must have seat belts and helmet.
  12. There will be no tracking in this class.
  13. In the event that a vehicle doesn’t meet all of these requirements it will be at the discretion of the technical director and the event staff as to the class placement for the vehicle in question.

STREET STOCK RULES

  1. This class is designed for vehicles that are street driven but have had performance modifications installed.
  2. No Engine swaps. Body and drivetrain must be of the same make. No aluminum heads or blocks unless factory available. Burden of proof is the responsibility of the driver. Aftermarket cast iron heads are allowed only on full-size small block vehicles. Big block engines must use factory available heads. No Bowtie or Ford Performance Parts cylinder heads allowed.
  3. Aluminum intakes are allowed for this class. No superchargers, turbo chargers, tunnel rams, dominator carbs or aftermarket fuel injection allowed. Must use factory style fuel pump for the vehicle.
  4. Must be a factory type ignition for that vehicle.
  5. Absolutely no nitrous or alcohol fuels allowed. Nothing pertaining to Nitrous Oxide usage will be allowed on a vehicle in this class.
  6. Exhaust is required for this class and must come past the driver’s compartment.
  7. Must be full bodied, no gutting. Any open or soft top vehicles must have a roll cage.
  8. Suspension: No traction bars of any kind allowed. No coil over shocks, four link systems or sliders allowed. Shocks must be located in factory position. Lift kits are ok but no racing designed leaf springs are allowed. All bushings must be in all suspension mounting points. Vehicle must sit level or higher in the rear.
  9. All accessories must be in place and operational. IE: lights, wipers, mirrors, fan, belts, etc…
  10. Floor or aftermarket transmission shifter is allowed. No Trans brake allowed.
  11. DOT tires only. No cutting allowed on tires.
  12. Insurance and registration is required and must be in the name of driver or immediate family.
  13. In the event that a vehicle doesn’t fit all of these rules it will be at the discretion of the technical director and event staff as to the class placement of the vehicle in question.

SUPER STOCK RULES

  1. This class is for full size full bodied trucks and SUV’s. Fender wells may be cut no more than three inches for tire clearance only. The vehicles wheelbase is to be to factory specification.
  2. Tires: Any DOT approved tire that has not been altered. Front rear tire height must be within two (2) inches.
  3. No aluminum blocks or heads. Single carb, no nitrous or alcohol. No power adders allowed.
  4. No superchargers or turbo charges unless available from the factory for that particular vehicle. No tunnel rams with split dominators.
  5. No gutting or altering of the body length or width. This includes the firewall.
  6. No chain drive transfer cases. Factory cases only.
  7. Engine and transmission in factory location only. Engine and mid plate allowed but must be in factory location.
    8. Must have three (3) working leaf springs. Slider and coil over shocks allowed. Relocation of rear shocks ok but must be placed no higher than top of frame rail.
  8. Any OEM front and rear axle housings. No sheet metal housings.
  9. Driveshaft loops and u joint covers are mandatory.
  10. Helmet and seat belts are required.
  11. In the event that a vehicle does not meet these rules it will be at the discretion of the technical director and event staff as to class placement.

PRO-STREET RULES

TIRES:  Maximum 40 inch inches in height and front and rear tires must be within two inches of each other on height. Dot only, NO cuts.

  1. Aftermarket intake and headers ok. No Tunnel Ram or split dominators.
  2. Body or suspension lifts ok. Must have a minimum of four leaf springs in rear. No aftermarket leaf springs. Traction bars must be solid mounted with no adjustment and can extend no farther forward than the front spring mount. All bushings must be present. No sliders or coil over shocks.  Shocks must be in factory location.
  3. No transbrakes.
  4. Fuel: No nitrous or alcohol mixtures.
  5. Engine: Must be mounted in factory location using factory mounts. No motor plates. No aftermarket heads or blocks. Bowtie and Ford racing parts are not considered factory. No aluminum heads or blocks unless factory available. Burden of proof is on the owner.

MODIFIED RULES

  1. Any chassis design allowed. Must have a body and a firewall. Drive must be enclosed on all sides.
  2. Any size DOT approved tire. Vera-trax tires ok on the front.
  3. Any induction system allowed except no superchargers.
  4. Must have four (4) wheel brakes.
  5. Every driveshaft must have a containment loop. U-joint guards are mandatory also.
  6. Helmet and neck restraint required. Must have a five point harness.
